What in the world is going on in my tank? I am not dosing anything. I did change out a Vortech with 2 Tunze pumps around that time... I don't think the probe is malfunctioning because everything in the tank looks like garbage.

I think I turned down my GFO and Carbon reactor around that same time. It is now off... Let's see if this stabilizes everything.

Only been about an hour, but it has leveled off. Now to deal with the carnage....

Sorry to hear, but that makes no sense. Hmmmm

think your GFO or carbon were leaching???

And we are back at 11.8 for the past couple hours now. I am at a loss.

The only thing that makes sense is a faulty probe. I did do a test with a cheap API pH test and it looks like I am around 7.5-8.

So corals look bad too?
Although I don't think stray current should bother corals, I would look into a bad heater possibly a pump. But given how the graph looks it appears it is something being turned on/off.

Hmmm... It might be my chiller pump. I cycled power on it and the pH started going back down to normal.
I pulled out a voltmeter, but didn't see any stray voltage. Next time the pH spikes I will test again. This tank has been nothing but a frustration lately.

That's weird. That would drive me crazy. It's got to be the probe.

I think my coral looks bad because I had been using carbon too aggressively. Hopefully taking the reactor offline will help bring nutrients back into the water and save what little coral I have left. What a nightmare.

I vote that the ph probe is bad also, do you have any fish?
Because if the ph was swinging that rapidly i would assume they would be dead.
