ATI Coral plus

Has anyone tried these lamps? its time to relamp my fixture and right now i run 4 blue pluses 1 true actinic 1 purple plus and 2 aquablue specials.

Just curious if anyone has any recommendations on lamp combo, and ATI vs Giesemann lamps? thanks everyone!

sorry i should have been more clear, has anyone tried the ATI coral plus lamps. I didnt know if anyone had any take on them?

I ran it. It's a beautiful lamp. Corals loved it also. However for whatever reason it gave out after only 5 months :( I've yet to buy another...funds are low don't ya know :)

Did you only run that lamp or did you have it in a combination with others?

What color did you get out of it?

4x24w T5HO-1x Aquablue special-1x Coral plus and 2x blue plus. Totally love the look and growth I got with this combo.

I'm using one right now in a 6 lamp aquatic life fixture with the following combination front to back.

Purple +
Blue +
Blue +
Coral +
Blue +
Blue+

The color is nice and growth is solid. In fact, I have to raise the fixture....it's a lot of light for a 16" deep tank, but I do like it.

Creefer what kind of color output do you get with that combination? any chance you could post a picture of it?

I'm headed out. I'll try to post a pic later. I'm really bad at picture taking. I'm guessing that the color is north of the 15K territory, but not quite 20k.

Here is a pic of the tank when it was set up with the aquablue special. I'll get one soon with the coral + in place of the AB Special.

You have seen mine. I just looked and I am running 2 Giesemann Powercrome Aquablue + and 2 PowerChrome Actinic +. I am happy with mine.

yeah i do like yours alot jimbo!! I just have a hard time droping 6 dollars more per lamp OUCH!!!! times 8 lol

I was recently wondering the same thing about the coral plus bulbs. But i am unsure about it. Right now i have 3 aquablue special and 1 blue plus ( because i received a bad bulb. Usually i run 2 and 2.

I'm running 3 blue plus and one coral plus, love it. Color is great and growth has perked up. Though I did have to raise the fixture up a bit, it bleached out one of my favia.

Im not really a fan of the really blue look. But i gotta order bulbs before i hit the island. Been debating on weather i should change my aquablues to coral+. Opinions? Then i would have 2 coral + and 2 blue+.

Hi Doug,

Hope all is well!

You may find the the coral plus is a bit too pink for two bulbs. The PAR also isn't too great. I would buy one bulb of the purple or pro just to try out incase you dont like it. Here are some ATI stats that jduck posted on another forum:

Hmm. Well my order was going to be 2 coral pulses, 2 blue plus, and 2 purple... now I did just change one aqua blue special and one blue, they will be good for some time, i will only be changing 2 bills in the near future. So I figured with that i could find some thing that look good and still use all the bulls eventually. Agreed???
