Thanks Dakar. Where can I buy the ballasts? I need lights for the new Sea horse tank.

Figure since this may become a somewhat popular subject here is the first requested wiring schematic;

Wiring for the Workhorse 5 firing 2x39w (36") T5's

Note: To overdrive the T5's hooking up the extra Red wire to each bulb should yield about 30-40% more light at the cost of a slightly reduced bulb life expectancy.

Angie, first place to check would be eBay, though these guys seem to be pretty reliable about keeping them in stock all the time and a quite fair on their pricing;

I've got some more links that I'll dig up to other sources that may save a couple of bucks, but they aren't always available.

Great thread Dakar,These Fulham/Workhorse ballasts are both cheap and reliable IME.I've used a WH5 to light a single 96w PC as well as the same WH5 to light a pair of 39wT5's.I''d like to point out that you can overdrive your T5's with the Fulham ballasts merely by connecting 2 red wires to each bulb instead of only 1.

If you were to run 4 T5 bulbs off of the WH5 would you daisy chain the yellow to all 4 bulbs?

You betcha, just make sure both pins on each bulb have a solid connection to the yellow lead.... a short jumper in the endcap will suffice.
