What is in it will cetainly depict what its worth imo. If its a fish only tank of is it has corals, LR....etc. Can you elaborate on "stocked"...are we talking stand lights, overflow, drilled??

ok here is goes.. it has a 1400 gph pump lights are 2 110 watt VHO's and 2 175 MV. it would need a sump/refug but i have tons or sand and macros that would go with it. and a stand no canopy.

That'd be a tough one, as as a whole pricing would be very subjective to what the buyer is willing to pay. Might try considering what the going rate would be from the perpspective of components... ie how much LR, a good count of the livestock that'd be included, then add in hardware/equipment. I think it'd go for a bit more than that. We've got at least double that (probably close to triple counting PC lighting and skimmer) amount into just our 55. 6-700 may sell it, but i think you'd be selling yourself short.

Almost afraid to ask, but how big IS a great big tank? Gotta know how much bigger I need to go to attain that goal. Although I'd either need a bigger house, or permission from Angel to seal the basement up real good and flood it with SW, now that would be cool to have your own reef that you can swim in anytime you want.

First I'd let ME buy all the stuff I liked out of it first! haha Then I'd add up the cost for each coral you have in there at current LFS price. Same thing with the fish. Remember, you are selling him a well acclimated critters. I think you'd be surprised how much money is really in there! Access also just how good a friend this person is as well when making your "deal". Then maybe take 20% off the total of the corals and fish. Figure up the rest of your equipment and depreciate it accordingly by it's age. To just put a flat amount on that beautiful tank could be a big mistake. Be prepared to show your list of prices to your buyer and offer a copy so he can compare in an LFS. IMO, you get what you deserve this way, and he's sure that he didn't get taken and he also got what he payed for. What do you think?

Post each coral seperate on WMAS for the frag meet on Nov 4th, with prices wanted... you'll make a few bucks... get an idea of what you'll bring in... I'm sure you'll be quite suprised in a good way.

Sorry to say this, but if you do sell it, you can usually only get about 1/4 of the price you payed. I bought a 46 gallon fully stocked, and only payed $300. I could probably have gotten it cheaper, but it was a good friend. I added up what everything would have cost me new, and it was somewhere around $1500. Just thought I would put my two sense in.

Parting out usually brings in more $$$.

do you think 600 is fair for that tank? lights pump live stock LS macro tank for refug?

dakar

More than fair. 'sides $600 would just cover the cost for a 180g tank.

Fair, but unreasonable to most of the cheap buttheads in this area...
