I'm getting my LED's today and need some ideas as to how to hang 'em. Anybody use something from Lowes or Home depot to hang them from the ceiling that adjusts? Any other ideas? Don't have to be heavy duty, cause they're pretty light.
They are about 8" x 15" and 2" thick.
Thanks,

Thanks for the generous offer, Buddy!
I wonder if somebody's using something we can buy at HD or Lowes to hang regular lighting. I'm getting some heat for hanging my lights in the past with speaker wire, lol! I've got four of these babies to hang.

I bought all of the parts to hang my lights @ HD. I'll take and post a pic later tonight (after the kids have gone to bed).

They usually have small channels that you can use to hang your lights from in the light department. The sun lifts allow you to adjust the height very easily. Man can't even give all this stuff away ! Lol

LOL! Again, thanks for the great offer and I'll check out the channels. These lights are heavier than I thought they'd be and a lot brighter than I thought they'd be. I think I'm going to replace my Halides with these.

Thanks Tom. The lights I bought came with a four post hanging kit, but only has one hook at the top. I look forward to seeing how you did it.

If you don't find something that works LMK and I can fab you up something at the shop.you bought those on the mr group buy ?? They look allot like the evolution I was going to lend you. I found it performs best at 12 to 16 above the water line. At 16 it gets great spread. I think you'll like the led's better then the halides. The electric bill sure is better and softies respond very well to them.

Alright, I'm not sure that my set up is what you're looking for... but here it is. While this rig is adjustable, it is not easily adjustable.
Not the prettiest but it's in my unfinished basement so it'll do for now.

Close up of the upper portion... height adjustment done by loosening the clamps and carefully pulling the cable in the desired direction.

Each side has a single cable that runs through two eye hooks screwed into the hood. So, changing the height only requires messing with one set of clamps (the one closer to the wall in this instance)

In hindsight I probably could have used a thinner cable and had the wires less obvious, but this was my first attempt at hanging a light fixture so I was overly cautious.
HTH and please keep us posted on your progress.

I know what you're saying about raising them up. I put one on at about 10" and it was blasting the sand. Very intense. Thanks for the offer, Bud. I think I'm going to use both Tom's and Chort's ideas. If I have the chain at the top on a hook in the joist, with the cables below that, connected to the chain, I can raise or lower it one link at a time.
Thanks for the the help, Men!

If your not looking for the prettiest option, I went with a double loop chain, screw in eyelets (to attatch to ceiling) and S hooks(to attach chain to eyelets and rail the leds are mounted in) to hang my LEDs.
It was simple to set up and is easy to adjust. If you want some pics let me know but it looks like you would imagine really lol
