This very strong little guy, about the size of a large pea, was chowing on my feather duster tonight. Have never seen him in the tank before. I removed him because he was damaging the duster and will be bringing him into the local fish store tomorrow to see if they want it. Any thoughts? Thanks!

The obvious to me would be some sort of Nassarius :) But I had no idea they ate coco worms!?!

That's what I thought too. But everything I read said Nassarius didn't eat the dusters. He ate the casing and chewed random holes in the other casings. Weird!
So, I am not sure. Thanks for getting back though.

Just did a bit more research, and based on the behavior of the guy, it looks to be a Whelk? Says they "drill" holes in stalks and will kill clams, worms etc., and will only go on the sand if necessary. I have never seen it on anything but the rock or the duster. Looks like the pic I took too. Anymore thoughts? lol
