I saw a purple nudibranch in my local fish store. Anyone have one? Looks nice, but I want to know what they eat, and whether they're safe for coral.

it its purple with frills on its back it could be flabellina which is an aeolid nudibranch. they brey on soft corals and sea anenomes. and are not reef safe. nudbranchs are very specific in their diets

It was purple with yellow gills on the middle of its back. I had heard they have very specific diets that include soft coral, so I figured I should check it out. I have some leather corals and green star polyps, so it sounds like I should pass this by. Thanks.

My female purple sea slug built her nest after 2 weeks I got a pair in the tank. I saw they mating couple time. They were healthy and colorful with phytoplankton. My pair seemed didn't bother any of my coral. They are beautiful in the tank but you need to have set up your power heads or the suction tubes in your tank because they will let themselves to float around to find new spots. And that's what happened to my pair; both were sucked into the power head. Hope her egg nest will hatch.

What do you feed your purple nudibranchs. Mine is half the size it was when we bought it.
