I have a 36" tall stand, and I was planning on using a 75 gallon sump for my 210 DT. However, once I got the sump underneath the stand, I realized it was no way I could work in it because it was too tall! This poses a huge dilemma, as I had already baffled the sump off into 3 chambers for skimmer, return, and fuge.

I would actually need a sump that is about 16" tall, vs. the 21" of the 75. I do have a 40 breeder that I was gonna setup as a frag tank....but that would probably eliminate me being able to have a fuge, because the skimmer footprint is 13"x10". If it matters at all, the return pump is a waterblaster7000.

Do I just baffle out the 40 breeder and only run a skimmer and return section? Or can I find a sump with dimensions that will be suitable to fit? Would the 40 even be large enough of a sump for that size tank?

You could always buy the acrylic and make one.

I doubt the sides of the 75 are tempered, you might try taking it to a good glass shop and see if they can cut it down.

what about the possibility of making the stand a but taller might be the best option
