Looking at this skimmer for my 26g and possible upgrade to a 56g. For now would this be to much for my 26g?

No such thing as over skimming IMO. The BH1000 does have an issue with flooding tho. We had one on a 40 breeder and delt with it flooding allot. I would recommend an in sump skimmer or external skimmer before trying that. POS unless you enjoy using a shop vac and running fans to dry out the carpet ! Lol. Just my .02 tho.

The BH-1000 is an external skimmer. That's why I'm wanting it. Especially on my 26.

Yes it is external but still a HOB also. What I ment by external was it is hard piped to the tank or fuge . What happened to the tunze skimmer ? I prefer a skimmer that is either in the tank or better in a sump/fuge so it won't flood the house !! HOB always run the chance of emptying your tank on the floor when you don't expect it. :oldman:

Oh I see what your saying. It's just that any skimmer worth it's weight is just so dang big in my tank.
The Hydor slim skim nano I'm running now takes up much needed real estate plus every time I blow my rocks off the next day the skimmer pump gets clogged. Then I gotta take off my lights, remove the skimmer and clean the pump. 1x a week is a major PITA!
Lets pray this BH-1000 is good to me as today I ordered it :)
