Im planning on downsizing tanks from my 120 to maybe a JBJ 30g rimless AIO tank and was looking at possible lighting for it. I came across the Kessil a150's and from what i have found they seem like pretty good lights for those on a budget. Id want to do a clam, sps, maybe a RBTA along with zoas and LPS. Any thoughts on this being a good light for it, or other reccomendations in a similar price range?

It's probably a pretty good choice the 350w won reef light of the year on reef builders. The Kessil A350 wins the 2012 Reef Builders LED showdown (http://reefbuilders.com/2013/02/01/kessil-a350-wins-led-showdown/)

yeah i saw that, i just wish the 150 had the dimmer knobs on it, but overall it still seems like a good light(about equivalent to a ~150w halide). people say it has anywhere from 18x18-22x22 light coverage so not sure what to beleive there but that should be fine with the smaller tank either way
another question: Sky Blue, Ocean Blue, or Deep Ocean Blue?

I'm going to build a 2.5 gallon sps Pico reef ready with a custom drilled overflow tank tied into my 400 gallon set up. I've been looking into the Kessil 150 myself and I think it will work well since I want to make it all sps. I think its a great light!

hmmmm, well deep ocean blue seems a little too blue to me and sky blue isn't blue enough so my preference would likely be ocean blue that's a 15k spectrum. However I've never witnessed any of these lights in person so my opinion isn't worth much

From what ive read the sky blue while being said as 10k is more of a 12-13k, the ocean blue is supposed to be 15k but more of a 20k, and the deep ocean is the 460nm or whatever the super actinic is.

In that case id still go with ocean blue since it's closer to 20k but still shouldn't be overly blue

Just got the sky blue for my 25 cube- color is sweet.
I liked the 15k. The 20k is WAAAY too blue for a sole tank light.
Overall, not sure about the intensity of the 150W. I'd test it out with a PAR meter, or seek out some PAR test results. Clams need big light!
