I've see something similar on R2R only it was being used as a SB vacuum. The output has a filter sock type attachment which catches the debris but allows the water to go directly back into the tank.

I didn't watch any of the videos but it looks like a powerhead with a bag on the output and a few different attachements to put on the input. I question how it would remove coralline, aptasia, or algae with a good hold on the rock. Lastly, sucking out detritus from the gravel is only half the point of a water change... what about replenishing elements that have been depleted.

That's a bangin' nano reef he has linked on the site. I've never seen a successful sps reef that size with so many fish in it:

I think it would be a great purchase for say a CLUB. Something members could barrow. Like me :) So I could remove these freaking shrooms that are taking over my tank!!!

Anybody try this yet?
I have a lot of Hair Algae.
I also like that it will do Gravel Vacuuming without sucking up your sand.

I tried it on my shrooms...didn't work. Then again I was using the smaller unit. But the shrooms were to slippery to catch on the drill bit. And every time I touched the rock with it the bit jammed.
