OK, ordered the new lighting... 2-175 watt 10k XM halides, 2-65 watt act 03 pc's, and 2 65 watt 10k pc's. I found a wholeseller in our local club, so got everything at wholesale (same supplier as Hellolight uses). After looking up the same lighting at Hellolights.com, the price diff is amazing. They should be here on the first or second of Nov. :-D ... Just had to gloat.

Not bad, at all... I'm even more stoked, now. How far above the water are your bulbs???

It's in! It's in! Holy **** are these XM's the **** or what!!! The claim on them is the best par for any 10k 175 watt SE Metal Halide... seems true as far as I'm concerned. I can't believe the diff. Here's a pic or 3...

How are you acclimating the new bulbs to the tank?

Well... pretty much just switched the CoralVue's out for the XM's... same schedule and all.

Brave....aren't you!! :) That's quite an increase in PAR.
We are going to try a couple of the 20k XM's on the softie tank, probably order them next week.

Here's a b4... Ereefic, do you think it's really that much so that there could be probable un-reversible damage???

I guess i'd rather be safe than sorry. :) They may be fine, they may not, you never know in this crazy hobby. Even loosing one coral to it would suck.
Throw a piece or 2 of screen over the tank. Run it for a few days then remove one layer. After a few more days remove the last layer.
