So I'm looking to add some new recruits to the cleanup crew for my 60 breeder. I've been hesitant on adding any snail yet, because its bare bottom. I didn't know how they'd do without sand. So any suggestions on what type of snail would do best.
I've never had any luck with margarita snails. And I'm not a fan of turbos.
I have been a fan of cerith and nassarius snails in the past.

I prefer trochus and turbos. Turbos can be a pain with knocking frags over, but can't be beat for algae control.
Nassarius tend to prefer sand (and are more of a carnivorous snail than an algae eater). I've never been impressed with cerith for getting the job done.
A half dozen trochus and a turbo or two would probably handle routine cleanup in a 60.

I am a fan of the jumbo nassarius snails. They keep my sand quite clean.

Picked up a couple of trochus and a small turbo, just to see how they'd work out. And so far they've done an awesome job. Will be getting some more real soon. Thnx for the sound advice all.
