Who's they? What's high?8.3-8.4 isn't high,it would be pretty hard to push your PH above that without you actively trying to.

IF the pH is actually too high (above 8.4) you can use some white vinegar in your top off water to slowly lower it back down 1 tsp/gallon. But like David mentioned it's hard to get it too high without a lot of effort, the majority have trouble keeping it above 8.2-8-3.
But again who says and what was the pH?

Yeah dave, it was my fish store, and it was the average kit. Correct it was 8.3-8.4. All I add to the tank daily is Bionic Alk+ calcium , and Kent Marine Coral Accel. If this is fine, then I guess I have no reason to worry.

Those levels are fine, nothing to worry over... most will swing up a bit during the photoperiod and drop down a little during hours of darkness. This is where reverse daylighting a macro fuge helps, when the tank lights go off the fuge comes on, the lighting and macros will help reduce this downward swing.

Sorry for the intrusion but, i have the same problem, I didnt worry too much because im sure its not too bad of a sign... I hope... but yeah my ph was too high, 8.6-8.8, is that tut I too much? My tap water is very hard, over 300 ppm, and thats what i used to start the aquarium about 2 1/2 weeks ago. So far I havent even made a water change as to not slow down the cycling of my aquarium. The only water if have used to top off my aquarium is r/o water.
