Cleaning skimmer pump?

How often do you clean your skimmer pump?
I have a BH-1000. Been running non-stop for 2 months and I've yet to clean it. It's running great, I'm more or less curious :)

I've had mine for 6 months. Never cleaned it.

i clean all my pumps quarterly

I try to do all my pumps and powerheads quarterly but I often miss that goal.
An hours soaking in straight distilled white vinegar and they are good as new with little to no scraping or scrubbing so its pretty painless. I then strain the vinegar through a paint filter or paper towel and pour it back in the gallon jug for next time so it lasts a year or more o na single gallon before the pH is affected so much it loses its strength. Best $2.50 you can spend.

I clean mine about every 4-6 months. However, I do remove debris from the intake strainer whenever I see it. I also clean it if I start to see an increase in the amount of water exiting the skimmer (could be hard to tell with some skimmer models).

Every six months unless I notice a reduction in performance.
