I waited until I shipped an ultra expensive pack before light switch. Concerned about the change upsetting the coral or worse...
The old array caused considerable shading of the acros undersides. So I decided to switch to 2 Vega Colors for outer LEDs and a SOL Blue in the middle running off separate controller. Another nifty feature I created is a hanging system that allows each unit to slide length of tank as well as I can pivot the units for more directional control, I am now able to create the arch of the sun. I have 6mnths @least before the move so I have to live out of my QT system so I may as well make the best of it. That is why 1 black unit..going non canopy on DT so I wanted to see how the black looked and I love it especially w/ the exotic woods being used on stand :love3:

I will get PAR readings later tonight

This is old arrangement w/ 2 SOL Blues

I was loving life until I smoked the SOL Blue I was using...lucky I have an extra. However, it delayed all my PAR readings an pics.
Hopefully tomorrow

If I were to upgrade to LED the AI Vega would definitely be it :) Very sweet setup dknuckles!

Looks great David ! How's the spread with the wider lenses ? Looking forward to the par readings! How in the heck did you burn up the SOL?

Thank you :)
They are very nice!
The only thing IMO to run Vega blues and color together. Colors solo tend to give a colored strobe effect when red, greens, and whites were @ 30%. The SOL blue in the middle really balanced the colors.

Thank you
The spread looks awesome and is about 3-4" wider than SOL Blues w/wider optics. Still have not taken any PAR readings...yet :duh:
Not sure Chuck??? It was working then when rehung it did not??!!

Did you check the power supply?
I've had a couple go out on me before.
If that doesn't fix it, I have a control board you can try swapping out.

What I had done...:embarrassed:
I run the mount screw in to far and hit board :duh:

Well it looks like I have my 1st candidate for Vega Blue conversion

Way to turn a seemingly costly mistake into a positive LOL

LOL
After all then I will know exactly which is stronger Vega vs SOL Blue..you know DeNial is more than a river in Egypt :snorkel:
