Okay I have my tank starting to cycle, but haven

that light would be great. if you want to save money you could even go with some Power Compact Lighting (my set 4x65w was $169.99). but keep in mind, when (and i do mean WHEN), you decide to upgrade to SPS's and some LPS's you might want to think of Metal Halide lights. the PC lights will do just fine for softies and anemonies. the ones you have picked out will work though. they are just quite a bit brighter than PC lights.

Once you see and have Metal Halides you cant go back, the light intensity and difference is amazing.

I would go with the T5 HO's over PC's in a second! There are many tanks full of beautiful SPS that have nothing but T5 HO's. Anemones need alot of light and the T5 HO's can provide it. They will do almost anything halides can do EXCEPT the shimmer effect. :)

You can even keep most Clams under T5 HO lighting.

If i remember right your tank is a 55 if so that will make you a good light
and you can keep all but the most light demanding sps with it

When we had our 55 reef up we had only VHO. We managed quite well with them. Placement of corals is the key if you want to keep sps or lps. We had a green open brain that was the size of a dinner plate! And green staghorn, tricolored acro, and a clam or 2. I never had any luck with anemones and they never stay put anyway! lol
Now that we have the 125 I love the MH shimmer but we need one more. We only have 2 175watt MH and really need 3 but they are so darned expensive! Ah well gotta do what ya gotta!

just to set the record straight ... i didn't say the lights were bad, just gave another alterative. i too would go with the VHO or HO over PC's. i just felt the need to give a cheaper option, just in case !! GETTING MY HALIDES THIS WEEKEND ... WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO !!!
