My diatribe, hope it isn't too muddled.

Tank prep
I started with a 55 gallon tank that I had sitting around for the last 15 years. I bought a couple of tubes of silicone sealant and resealed all the inside corners and most importantly under the top frame. The top frame had come loose when I was using it as a freshwater and water would wick up over the glass and dribble down the sides. So I removed the whole top frame and squeezed a whole tube inside the notch where the glass goes. Then mushed the frame back down on the glass and applied 2 cotes of sealant around the inside.

Stand
I had an iron stand from fish keeping years of old which I repainted.

Placement
I set the stand up in the basement against a wall of the utility room. This wall had a heater vent about a foot from the floor, which placed it behind the lower 40 gallon tank. I relocated this heater vent to about 5

sound like it may be a little to soon to start adding corals. we usually recommend waiting at least 2 months, or testing the water everyday for a week to make sure the cycle is over. i think the DAMNsels are a good starter fish for a cycle because of thier hardiness. although some will disagree with that. but i think all will agree when i say ... TAKE THEM OUT WHEN YOU START GETTING INTO CORALS OR FISH THAT ARE MORE LAID BACK !!!!!!!! they are aggressive and usually only get worse as they get bigger.

if you think that base rock was high priced ... wait til you get to go buy some Figi LR (here it is $5.99 per pound). and just so you know ... in my 55gal, i have over 100 lbs.

about the pictures ... there is an image resizer on the front page of this site. it is on the left side, just above "web directory". it is a handy tool to use so you don't have to do it all manually.

Hi Bobby,
Yea I know the Damsels have to go real soon.

You get live rock for $5.99, you lucky dog!
I'm on a shoe string budget, the problem most places will not take shoe strings. Theye want money. :-(

I know that I am moving a little faster than I should, but not that I have something besides a bare tank to look at I have been able to control myself a bit.

Thanks.
