I just fraged my xenia and it appears to be really upset at me. I had a peice that came on the rubble from the lfs. It grew relly huge and leaned to one side, far enough to where it attached to one of my large peices of lr. I let it get a firm grip for a few days and when I came home today I cut it appart with a sharp CLEAN razor blade. The large peice shriveled and stood up the way it use to be. the small peice already looks really bad. I.E. shriveled up and a little darker. Is this normal or did I screw it up.

Perfectly normal... sounds like the typical behavior as it heals. Give it a few days or so and it'll likely be back to normal again.
Xenia are a peculiar critter to begin with... we've had total meltdowns, only to have it grow back from seemingly nothing a few weeks/months later.

Anytime you cut any coral it is more prone to illness. Most of the time fragging xenia will cause it to shrivel up a bit. Durining this period I would add a little extra iodine to help pervent illness as well as to provide the xenia with extra food. I would also consider moving the xenia to another tank. when you cut the xenia it does release a toxin that can be harmful to other corals. If you don't do this at least, toss a little extra carbon in your tank, to eleminate any toxins in the water. To be honest there is a little easyier way to frag xenia. just put rubble rocks around the main colleny. It will spread over time and just slowly move the rock that you placed away from mother plant over the corse of a week. You won't run into the same problem that you are having now and it is overall etter for the tank.

the larg peice is lookin a little better. Back to pulsing but a little dark and thin. The smaller peice I am worried about it is laying all the way down very dark, tight like couliflower. But even the small peice has a little pulsing/finger movement so I don't know.
