Has anyone here ever used Tropic Marin bio-calcium?The LFS gave me some,so i figured i'd try it.It is unlike any calcium additive i've used.It is supposed to have CO2 in it as well as the calcium. It is in a solid form, the directions say to sprinkle it over the surface of the aquarium.I'm not sure i like this stuff floating around and settling on corals but they dont seem to be negatively affected. At this point,I'll try anything because i'm having trouble keeping calc/alk levels up.Looks like i have to keep testing. :(

Never heard of it... Have you tried turbo calcium for ca and baking soda, was, or a buffer to raise your alk?

yeah,I've been using baking soda and CalcChloride as well as kalk.I think its time to get a calcium reactor or a bigger tank.

I have absolutely no probs using both a Kalk reactor and a ca reactor in unison on the system... Growth is great!!!

How low are your levels getting down to that you are trying raise them up from?

well, alk was at 6 dKH and calc was down to 360ppm.I finally figured out how much Kents liquid calcium it takes to balance the 1tsp baking soda i've been using.I had only been using 5ml when 12ml is the correct amount to use.I think once i get my levels back up,the supersaturated kalk might hold them. This bio-calcium claims to raise calc levels by 28ppm per spoonful/5gal system water.
