Smells like poo

When I first got into reef keeping, I thought the smell coming from my skimmer was...neat. It was a sign of cleaner water, and a good investment for the skimmer. Well I am OVER that whole thought. I almost tossed my lunch today when I opened the lid of my skimmer to dump it. And, I knew I had a good batch of skimmate when my wife in the other room started yelling at the dog for taking a dump..."nope honey, that's just me!". So, there is no real reason to this post, other than to say that my ASM skimmer is definatly doing it's job...I am going to start wearing a clothes pin on my nose when I empty that thing!

lamo dirt.does your have a cup that fill or an ovrfull collection tube? i have my venturi set up with a drain tube(easy to modify the cop) to drain into a 2 liter pop bottle with a lid(hole cut in lid just to fit tubing.to empty the goop i take cap off the bottle and recap with a cap and toss it out no stink

I've thought about trying to drain the yumminess into another container. But the probolem is, I have a HUGE skimmer in a small stand, there just isn't any place close by to put the new container. I am just going to start plugging my nose....maybe hang one of those tree air freshners off my hat bill while I get it cleaned out. Eeeewwww.....
