On a realted note the shipment I got from the air port, which the fish and corals were in a bag for 30 hours, 80% lived. I think I have to go to church now. I think out of every one the airlines are the worst. They resurve the right to bump your shipment to another fight even if they fright was prepaid.
Fed ex should remburse you for there stupidity. At least I hope they do. That really sucks that they messed up like that but it is not just fedex that does that. I think out of every one the airlines are the worst. I hope you had insurance on that package $450 is alot to lose because of there mistake.

i have a claim with them right now but they seem to be cooperating. they know it was their fault. besides being dead ... they were 23 hours late arriving. should have been here before 10:30 am on the 23rd but got here at 9:30 am on the 24th.

Who's covering the loss? F&S or the carrier? Last time I checked into it all of the carriers claimed all garuntees were null and void for shipping live goods and would not honor anything...even if it was their fault from a misrouted package to a truck running over the package at the airport.

well i got the from Greg (graphixx22), and i have a claim going with fed ex that is getting faxed back today. the whole thing with F&S was just a price guide that i used to find out what everything was worth on a reputable website, and it did not include the montipora digitata that was also in the box. Greg acctually paid to have it here at at or before 10:30 am. needless to say, he is pretty upset with FedEx too. they seem to be doing a pretty good job of satisfying the problem. i guess we'll see what happens.

fed ex has a garrenty but airlines don't. the shipper will fix it to some dagree but not as much as they should. Bobby if fed ex doesn't fix it let me know and I will help you out. Sometimes you get a little more leaway if you ship a lot with them. I would try DHL next time they have been prettyy good with live stuff and being on time.

yeah its allways a hassle when something like this comes up. I get sooo nervous everytime I ship something. but its allways a gamble. the thing that urks me is that no body knew where the package was!!!!! that shows a lack of organization and incompetence. But rest assured this will get taken care of.

i guess i had to learn the hard way that we ship at our own risk ... FedEx denied our claim but i did get Greg his shipping cost back so i guess it wasnt a total loss. we are going to try again this week i think.

I used to work as a Customer Service Supervisor, aka God. I was at the top of the heap when it came to authorizing credits for damaged things etc. My job was to do ANYTHING to keep the customer happy. Fed Ex has an awful lot of new competitions, and they know it, so they should be willing to make the situation right! What I just want to say from that is, there's always someone higher up on the food chain of the refund later. Don't stop when you get that first couple "no, I can't help yous...this is the best I can do for you!" Keep demanding a higher supervisor, and if you get no satisfaction there, ask to speak to the CEO of the company!! For every supposed Supervisor you speak to, make sure you get their name and ID number. Remember, everyone has a supervisor, so take advantage of that. That's what they are getting paid for!! Good Luck! Angel :angel06:

thanx for the post Angel, i think i might try to get someone higher up than the supervisors i was talking too. i got a little angry so i figured i would just let it go and we could try again with another carrier.
