Title says it all.. I want to have a storage container full of R.O water in my basement and run a line to my sump directly above it. Is this a problem. I feel like I am overthinking it. Every setup I have seen the people have a big bulky container next to their display.. Looks way to tacky for me. Is there a prebuilt system that can do what i want?
Thanks guys!

There are lots of ATO options. I've always used the Tunze Osmolator as I like the dual water level sensors. You would need a switched socket so you could use a larger pump capable of pumping from your basement to the tank. If you have a controller, you can also use floats and a pump to create your own system. Just make sure you have redundant water level sensors/fail-safes to prevent overflowing your tank.
I'm currently building a larger water change/ato system that will use the Osmolator and a peristaltic pump. You can view it in my build thread if interested.
Good luck!

Hello
I have been running mine directly from my 5 gallon ro holding tank to my sump for top off Via apex controller, with a redundant mechanical float, no need for extra pumps to move water as the holding tank is pressurized, and with only 5 gallons of water avail at any one time cuts down the risk of a salt water tank turning into a fresh water tank. I have a 100 gallon container in basement for water changes no big bulky container in fish room. always mixed with salt if the controller were ever to malfunction and dump all into my sump. my 2 pennies.

Thanks for the replies fellas! Wondering if a bra dosing pump would have the power to pump 15 ft of head pressure. I looked it up and some people mentioned 20 ft would be ok

The Spectrapure UPLC-II is designed specifically for this purpose and handles up to 65 feet of vertical head with ease. It also does not require a check valve like others since it uses a metal 3 roller peristaltic pump which does not bleed back or siphon. You can also mount the UPLC in your stand next to the sump and have it suck up 35 feet vertically which is probably th better way to go since the digital sensor is attached to the pump.
I have been using one for over 6 years now with my storage in my garage 35 feet away horizontally plus a couple up and over doors and through the walls with the pump in my stand so it is in the sucking mode. Flawless.

Go to SpectraPure - Innovators In Water Technology! (http://www.spectrapure.com) then down to the Manuals section in the lower left corner, then Level Controls and Ultra Precise Level Controller. The complete owners manual is there is .pdf format and gives you all the details.

I second that!!! There is no better ATO on the market. It will maintain your water level within 1/16". You set it once and forget about it.the suction cup mounts are the only down side to this unit. Easily replaced with a full probe holder and an old mag cleaner. Takes up very little room and is well worth the money. I have some pics I will post for ya.

I used their suggestion to place a dab of silicone on each suction cup before installing it and it has stayed in place for 6 years. I was leery of the suction cup mount too but it has held up well.

Awesome guys thanks! Like like I will be going with the spectra pure. Funny thing is I scoured their site looking at the RO units and somehow missed that they have ATO setups.
