so i just bought a 14 gallon biocube for twenty bucks and got what i paid for, its a mess salt corrosion on everything, reflector plate in hood is all rusted, missing one fan the other fan is loud as crazy, leds arent attached and dont work, and somethings messed up cuz once i plugged it in it shocked me when i touched the water, determined to get this baby right again, ugh got alot of work to do any advice ?

Sounds like it's going to cost you more then the tank is worth.

Strip everything off and just use the tank.

so i finally got the tank all cleaned up, still some dried up salt i cant get off around the top edges ( any suggestions?) found out it was the heater that was causing the electrical short, took that out, put a new sponge in the back, pump and lights are working well, air pump for skimmer isnt working well enough so gotta get a new one of those, and took apart the fan cleaned it really well and put back and now its alot quieter, got some water running through it now by itself, next step is to get my sand, i think im gonna go with a live black sand from the lfs, get some rubble rock for the other back chamber, transfer some live rock from my other tank, and get a few more base pieces

Hot water on a sponge will dissolve and remove the dried salt...hold a paper towel underneath to catch the runoff.

Hot water + Vinegar :)
