Reef Octopus BH-1000 issue.

Most of you know I've been running this for a year. I've yet to find the cups sweet spot. In order to keep the nog from accumulating in the neck, I have to run it very wet. Otherwise the neck gets very nasty, very little if any nog makes it to the cup. If I lower the cup to much then it's just pushing pee water. To high and it stays in the neck, with the heavier stuff falling to the bottom of the skimmer, where it sits until I take the whole thing apart and clean it out.
This is frustrating the heck out of me. Am I missing something here?

We used the next model up when we had cortezrays in our 40B. Anyways had same issue. Installed a needle halve in the air line problem cured. I will get ya a link.

I checked it out Chuck but I'm not understanding what it's for-lol. How would a needle valve help?
