got another reef tank today

my sister had a 29gal. reef she was trying to get everything right in, but it really never happened. (bless her little heart). but she finally gave up on it and asked me to trade her a bare 55gal. i had sitting around for it, so i did. it is going to go through a small cycle so all the "critters" are in our other tanks and we get to start new on this one. i saved all the water and sand and rock, but the rock is all now in the other tanks, so it will be like a fresh start for the tank, i think the only problem when she had it was not enough lighting, and she couldn't afford a good reef light system ( gonna have a baby). any ideas on what to use this tank for ??

All depends on what you are going to keep in it. I have a 29g set up as a frag tank. I am running (2) 65 watt PC and (1) 150 watt DE MH. If you are going with just soft then pc or vho will be just fine. If you are a DIY then check out ahsupply.com for good light kits.

As for what to use it for sps nano all the way. You could do a species only tank like all monti digi all a different color.
