Where would be the best place to put a bag of PG in my sump?

As long as it is in a good flow area it will do fine. I prefer to put it in a reactor. Seems to perform better that way

I put mine close to where the water enters the sump. But as Binford said anywhere with good flow will work.

So how about the return chamber?

That'll work. Just make sure it won't get sucked into the return pump!

Yeah that was my worry so I put it between the skimmer & drain pipe.

Place it in a low to medium flow area where it will not be too turbulent and grind the media to dust. You want the media to remain loose and tumble slightly so tie the bag so it has room to move around a little.

Wouldn't grinding Phs Guard to dust create a milky white water column. I use this product and it needs to be rinsed very well before useing it. If you don't you water will turn white!

That's what he's saying I believe. That I don't want it to grind. Hence the lower flow placement :)

I made a shelf out of egg grate and put it in a bag just below my last sump baffle, the water flows up over the baffle, and down through the PhosGuard before being pumped back into the tank.
