My tank says 82.5 But why & how? I'm using both a digital/glass thermometer. Return pump is not warm to the touch, heater isn't on and is cool to the touch, skimmer pump is cool to the touch and house temp reads 76.
I'm not worried about the actual temp but am very curious as to why?

Return and skimmer pumps are the most likely causes. They don't feel warm to the touch because the water is absorbing the heat. Remind me which brand pumps you're running. My understanding is that some pumps are known for adding heat.

Checked this morning and although my Hydor 200w heater was set at 75 and is placed in the return chamber, the heater light was on. My ATO enters the return chamber also and there is no heater in my ATO.
I removed the heater which was slightly warm to the touch. Dried it off and noticed condensation on the inside. Is this normal?
I've removed the heater to see if the temp comes down.
My return pump is a Sicce Syncra 2.0 34w (548 gph)
Skimmer is an SCA-301 28w (364gph)
Oh and the house temp dropped to 67 this morning and tank still read 81.2

Update: Well not an hour after removing the heater the temp has dropped to 78.8 Guess this proves it was the heater. Unfortunately the only other heater I have ATM is another Hydor. Only this is a 150w. We'll see how it goes.

You should be ok Jamie. The only spare heater I have is 800 watts.

Thanks Tom & Larry :) It's pretty stable right now at 77.9 Which I like.

Heaters are WORST!
Add a controller when you can, set the heater for a degree or 2 higher than the controller. The controller gives it power when it needs too. DA or Apex, both work great for such things.

Well so far the Hydor 150w is working great. Temp is stable at 77+ :)
Good to hear all is well now
