Fall Photo Contest

This was fun when we did it a few months ago...so lets try it again!


Rather than our typical photo contest which seemed to have limited participants because people didn't feel their photos where worthy, this photo contest works differently and gives everyone the same chance.


Here's how it works. The winner of the photo contest is going to be chosen at random from the posted photos and will have nothing to do with how the photo looks. So you can have a bad camera, a camera phone, an expensive camera and it will give you no disadvantage nor advantage. If you can't hold a camera still or if you have a tripod, it doesn't matter. This is a photo participation contest...and everyone that enters has a chance. Please only post photos that are your own.


You can post a new photo up to once per day...so you will be able to enter multiple times.


Photos can be of anything reef related...a fish, a coral, full tank shot, etc.

The contest will run through November 30, 2014. The winner will be posted soon after the contest ends.


The winner will receive a brand new TDS meter shipped to their address.

Sorry for the delay...was out of town on vacation for a couple weeks. I'm working on getting caught up.

You are correct...when multiple posts where made on the same day, only the first post counts. In the event of the random number picking subsequent posts, a new random number is chosen until a post is picked that meets the qualifications of the contest. Members are welcome to post replies in this tread as well...but replies if chosen in the random draw won't count (unless its the first post from that member that day and also includes a photo).

I use the site random.org to pick the random number...then verify that post meets the contest rules.

Hopefully that clears it up.

The goal of the contest is to gain more activity here on CR. If I delete posts or tell people they can't reply, it sort of defeats our goal of doing the contest in the first place, no?

We have not seen the TDS meter yet. If you have not sent it yet,please go ahead and put it on the wheel for the Lansing swap. We will not be attending the swap,so good luck to everyone who spins the wheel. The Mrs and I unfourtanetly will be diving and if all goes well with the interview,moving to Aruba or Bonaire!! Dang it!!
