I got my tank all plumbed with a standpipe but I am still getting BIG gurgleing sounds and even bigger bubbles in the sump. I need to know how to stop this. It's getting really anoying when I'm trying to watch the television.

What is your overflow setup again?

Is it a constant gurgle or a intermittent toilet flushing sound?

oops.... that was meant to be an edit.

Hey hey its a little of both. its an intermittent gurgle. kind of like blowing a bubble in a cup of wter. I think the problem is to much air in my pipe but I'm not sure how to fix it. I get a bouble every couple of minutes

Gosh, I keep missing when you are on. What does your standpipe consist of? If it's capped do you have an airline dealy on there? If you do, it sounds like you need to add a second one. Leave one wide open and adjust the other. I had to do that one time. If it's an open style standpipe, send a piece of airline tubing or rigid tubing down the standpipe until it quietens. Sometimes it's a couple of inches, other times it's a foot+. It will break the vaccum effect. Make tank is doing the flushing effect right now and the airline trick is not working. We are going to have to trouble shoot it tonight when the other 10 million tank projects get completed.

K, I was just reading over your other thread. When you put the cap on and drilled the hole the noise got worse. If the adjuster is on there you need to add a second for sure like mentioned above. If the adjuster has not been added, add that first. Try to adjust... if it doesn't work add the second and try to adjust..... What size is your pump and bulkhead? Do you have a sump? With baffles?

Overflow size???? I have no idea. the LFS said that it would handle the rio pump they sold me. I did some preaty trick plumbing inside the sump and reduced the outlet size. now the air acctiually builds up and vents through the hole. I also in a way moved the standpipe to the outlet and it has made it quieter than ever ( sound like a HOB unit now). I will try to get some pics tomorrow, it works but takes up more room than I like in the sump. Hopefully we can catch eachother online and find a more proper solution to the problem.
