Thinking about deep sand beds.

I am seriously thinking about doing a deep sand bed with a plenum. Anybody see anything wrong with the plans on garf.org.

I had a plenum system set-up in my 75 for several years. I never had a crash but I am not sure exactly it was the best thing for the tank either. The main problem I ran into is that there is very few people who have them so talking about issues and concerns was hard. When I moved last year, I just went with a shallow sand bed in the 75.

The majority of people seem to run a deep sand bed, very shallow sand bed, or bare bottom. Based on what I have read, I will going with a DSB in my 38 when I tear down my 75 soon.

I have a deep sand bed in my 150, the system is only 9 months old now. So, I too am curious about what people have to say about them. I did not use a plenum though.
