UV or no UV Sterilizer?

Just wondering if anyone has experience with u.v. sterilizers and wether they are useful or not in a reef environment.

I TOO AM WONDERING THAT SAME QUESTION I HAVE HEARD SOME GOOD AND ALSO SOME BAD

They work well for killing paracites and such but the down side is they will kill anything that goes through them. This includes any good bacteria floating in your water(not much) and stuff like pods and other small creatures. So it is kind of a double edged sword.
