Pager function may be kaput....

Though the concept is great and did perform well for quite a while, lately it's performance has been less than stellar, it looks like the Pager function is behaving unpredictable at best.... unfortunately it appears the author will not be updating the software, I'll be looking into it if/when time presents itself but that will likely not be anytime soon, nor a guarantee that I can even repair the code.

There have been a number of reports of pages not being received, or received hours/days later.... just behaving too unpredictably... If this trend continues it will have to be taken down.

In the interim consider it to function in the manner of a vintage pager of the early 80's.... best attempt delivery of your message...

man that would suck, that is a very very handy little function. I use it almost everytime I am on the forum. I dont know how the other members feel about it but I know I sure would miss it.

I don't believe any other forum I've ever been on has had the feature...... nope CR has been the pioneers..... now we are just gonna blend in....

I'll see what I can do... But I don't believe I've seen any other site with that functionality either.... keeping CR more unique than others is 1/3 of the fun, 1/3 watching some scramble to try to duplicate, the rest of the fun comes in the form of 'hate mail'.

If only I had 1/2 of the time as I do ideas floating around... (came up with some more cool ones last night when I should have been sleeping, (that place between my ears must be quite scary when I get in that mode)...

but stupid rules about *work* wanting me to work on *their* stuff... what a stupid rule, have to see if I can find a way to make some of *their* projects and mine somehow merge so I can do both.
