I have a golden headed sleeper goby that I got from the LFS a couple days ago. I have been feeding the tank with mysis, krill, a little brine, and formula 2. I also dose garlic. The krill sink to the bottom and are gone by the next time I go in the room. I feed about 3-4 krill a day. This guy is looking SKINNY. His tank mates are a clown, blue tang, and a lawnmower blennie. How much should I feed him or are they just skinny. It only appears to be skinny in the mid-front section of his body.

All help is appriciated.

Joe

Joe, have you actually seen him eat??? if you have then he should be allright. they take a few weeks to fatten up. but if you have not seen him eat, next time you feed watch the tank and see if he actively tries to eat.

just keep an eye on him. if he gets hungry enough he should eat. is he getting picked on in the tank at all??? anything that would stress him out?

No picking. His tankmates are a false clown, blue tang, lawnmower blennie, and some hermits.

hhhmmmmm he may just still be adjusting. just keep an eye on him. I know my jeweled goby was shy for a couple of days but once he settled in he turned into a pig.

for what its worth jojo, i have 4 bar gobies that have been hiding out since i added them about 1 week ago. they DO ocassionaly sneak out to grab some food, but most of the time ... they just sit in thier little cave and wait for food to come to them. i would try to spot feed your Goby, (shoot some garlic soaked food into his cave. usually if they see it and are hungery, they WILL eat it.

sometimes gobies just take a while to get acclimated to the new tank. (i meant to say that at the end of my last post here) !! ooops.

Well I just checked on the little guy before lights out and he had a little bulge in his belly. So I will assume that he has started to eat or was eating the whole time. If anything changes I'll let you guys know.

Glad to hear you've seen some evidence that he is eating!
