Thank you! I thought that would make you laugh. I think it'll be kida hard once it gets going. Such a small water volume. it was a 1 gal tank before sand and rock so I figure I'm working with like half a gallon. But hey I can do my water changes with an eyedroper now. J/K I will just steal a little when I make water for the other tanks. I only plan on haveing the damsel and three hermits that are in there now with maby a snail or hey what do you guys think maby a sailfin tang or spotted grouper?? J/K I'll stick with the snail.

Thats AWESOME!!! I'll run it by the wife as I gave her total control over what goes in this tank (as long as it won't cause a problem).

Well the live rock is cured already and the sand is from another tank so I don't think there will be much change. The light is only 7 watts so I am probably going to be very limited for corals. I have been thinking about macros though. Or maby a little xenia.

BTW didn't you see the damsel. that is the only fish that will be in here. You have to remember that I only have about a half of a gallon of water. WOOHO after posting this I realised that I am no longer a cuddle fish!!! I'm not that cuddly anyways but grouper makes me happy!!

thats really cool. I envy your waterchanges on that tank

jojo22

Yeah if this was my only tank a little box of IO would last like 100 water changes at 1/10 of a gallon a week. That would average $36.50 a year in salt and be about a 20% water change every week.

nice little tank, IMHO i think nanos are almost easyer to take care of, because of the small size you can do all the water changes in bowls and not have to drag out all the buckets and everything

My wife has named the damsel Elvis. Don't know why but she said he looks like an Elvis.

Hmmm think you need to increase the flow in there.... a Seio 1500 should do nicely! Porr tank would be empty before the PH even got up to speed.

Pretty nifty lil'tank...

The tank needs to be kept cool for a Catalina.

*dips toe in the water by her house as she throws a rock towards Catalina Island*

The water is really freaking cold.

Yeah... bowls are easier than buckets..but in all my time in Marine.. my easiest tank to maintain was my big one. Much more forgiving.

Yeah but the half the fun is going to be the challenge. I think I will measure water changes with a shot glass and keep an eyedroper full of ro/di next to the tank for top offs.

My 12 gallon nano, at my office, is now a fresh water planted tank. I travel too much and couldn't keep up with the top off and other maintenance. I love nano tanks..my first was a 20 gallon (borderline nano) and again I loved my 12. It is just that in New England, especially during heating season, the evaporation rate was out of this world..and my snails 'sploded.. then the aglae blooms, then the fun ended :(

Oh geez Joe...you weren't kidding when you told me tiny!! I love the closeups though. It makes the rocks look like big bolders. You should get some of those cute little clown gobys. They are adorable and don't require a lot of room. Heck, just get the Circus Clown Goby. He swims upside down. An odd little fish, for a teeny tiny tank! I love it though! I have to laugh when I picture you scaping it with that big hand of yours! Tight fit? Don't forget a nice little piece of a macro in there too! Keep up the pictures. I want to see this entered in TOTM sometime soon!! Nice talking to you today! ...Angel

PS. As for putting up with the likes of some of the jokers here......
Give it right back at 'em 10 fold!!! LMAO :LMAO:

DavidP...Are you serious when you say your snails really and truly exploded. That had to be an awful mess, and pretty gross too! Your poor little hermits probably thought it was fun at first, but that's a lot of snail parts to eat! I have to admit, this one made me giggle a bit! Thanks for sharing that little tidbit of info. I'll make sure I always keep my salinity at a nice safe level for sure now. I tend to fall behind a bit on the 45g reef that has my tangs, clowns, Engineer Goby, two chromis, and a few corals...mostly from the gift of them Whoyah sent to me. I don't have to babysit that tank as closely as I do the ponies, but Dave brings me top up water more often now, so it all helps! Thanks for the 'sploding snail funny!
