I wanted to know how much could a one inch hole and 3/4 Hole in the over flow, flow before it can not keep up with a larger pump.

I believe a 1 inch will allow about 2000 gph???

600 on 1" 300 on .75 but that is best case

I believe steve is right on the 1", not that sure on a .75" though. That seems like a large drop-off...

forgive me but... I'm assuimg the first number is the circle diameter? Even if so, can you explain how is it relevant? I'm not being a smart @$$, I really just don't know.

It just shows how fast area increases with increase in diameter. 2 one inch holes is not equal to one 2 inch hole. I am not trying to be a smart ***. It is amazing how much it changes almost 10 times between diameter  of 1 and 3
