I bought some orange tree sponge from an online dealer and have found that the piece they sent me is too long to fit nicely in the tank......can you cut this stuff?? If so, what's the procedure? Will just cutting her in half with scissors do the trick? Thanks!

I have done it with no problems. It's been a few months and both pieces are still alive. They are very slow growers so don't cut it too short thinking it needs lots of room to grow.
