Peroxide Dip?

I've had some passing conversations with reefers who have dipped their corals in peroxide to help combat nussiance algae. I have some frags that have been sitting on racks that have hair algae growing on them. I'm thinking that as I move into the new tank, it might be a good idea to dip those frags so to minimize transfer the algae the new system.

So, I'm wondering who has done this? Did it help? And what mix and duration did you use? What type of corals did you dip...and are their corals that don't tolerate it at all?

Ive dipped zoas with good success. Just used a cap full in about a cup of water. Let them sit for about 5 min. I have been told not to dip anything that has thin fleshy tissue like blastos and acans.

Ive only peroxide dipped with zoas/palys.

Works great on algea. I use it at a 1part peroxide/ 3parts saltwater. Usually for 2-10 minutes.

I like the swish them around in the tank, to let them all close up nice and tight, before dipping. I wait to dip if any polyps are still open.

I just did this a couple weeks ago. Got a small rock of Zoas that were acting funky. Some open, some not just blah. So I used 20ml tank water and 10ml peroxide, dipped em for about 3min, rinsed well and awesome results!

I would only use on zoas and palys. It will either cure them or kill them in my experience. It will most likely kill any stony coral.
