Seven days ago my Rose found its way into a Seio 1100 and lost... Anyway it seems to be healing ok and started to split.but it still has not finished its split. You can see where its started but seems like it cant finish.
Do you think I should release it so it can attach to a rock so it can pull itself apart?
second pic is seven days later.
ps...lights are out at 9pm est.

Wow, that's a remarkable recovery. The odds were stacked quite a way to the Seio. I'd say turn him loose but keep an eye on him for a while.

He should be fine. MY RBTA did the same basic thing. All that was left was a single tenancle and the base. It made a full recovery just make sure to feed it well.

I kept the Rose in the main tank inside a drilled hermit cage to protect him from the seio's and the Clarkii that were hosting it. And to give him the best lighting and conditions... I dont think it would have lasted in the QT.

Thanks, He finally started to take some krill two days ago, still wont accept any silverside's,just regurgitates (sp) it...mine had about 40 tenancles before the run in and about 8 or 9 and a few chuncks missing from the foot.

I have no secrets, I think you have to have enough lighting, I would say at minimum 3 to 4 watts a gallon and a stable tank.
I put my first Gbta in at six months when my new lighting arrived
( T-5 8 x 54 over a 75 gal) and I finally found a Rbta two weeks ago...
you also do not need a clown fish as they will be fine without the relationship.
and feed once or twice a week.

How do you acclimate them? You didnt say how long they last. Im a believer in a long drip method. My rose was in the bucket for 3 hours,I have been using this way since I started, and the one time I didnt the fish didnt survive. Next time you try, put the anemone at the highest point in the tank and feed him,If he dont like it he will move to a spot he does like, unless you tried this already.maybe your not getting a healthy speciman to begin with.

shouldent you run some kind of spong (pre filter) on all your in-let like PH,and pumps so fish and stuff dont get sucked up

I did ! somehow it got under it and it was inside the seio when I found it in the morning. Now I have the ends of the foam banded down. Hopefully that will be enough because Im going to release him when the 10000k's shutoff tonight.

Thanks... the minute it comes out from behind the rock it's behind I will definitely post a pic... From what I can see of it,it looks well and has recovered... I can no longer see it enough to tell if the mouth is still gaping though... Even after being in a QT inside the main for two weeks the mouth continued to gape...

Well its been quite awhile but the Rose has finally emerged from behind the tank and looking a bit different... I'd say he made a full recovery and never did split.

I think its the intensity (PAR ) that MH give over PCs that really make an anenome bloom.
