kick ick is a decent product depending on how your other fish will handle it. I have used it in my display tank and had no adverse effects and got rid of the ick. otherwise i would QT him as a first choice unless you wish to leave him in to avoid to much stress.

Who makes "kick ick"? I'll try to find it tomorrow if he survives. It doesn't hurt live rock, sand or inverts? I'm terribly afraid of moving him. I've done that twice before with tangs that had ick & I ended up losing them both. Do you think the stress will be worse than the ick? The garlic doesn't seem to be doing much.

i have used "kick ich" also with no adverse affects. no harm to corals, inverts, rock, or sand. you have to stay on top of the days that you are suppose to use it, but other than that, IMO it rocks.

i have 5 tangs, 8 gobies, 1 trigger, and a copperband in my reef and they all survived and showed no signs of stress while using it.

Thank you! I'll try finding some somewhere in the morning (I'm about an hour away from most of civilization). Thanks for the recommendation! Anything beats moving him. Some fish seem to move better than others. Also he has recently been put in the tank he's into begin with, I'm afraid to move him so soon.

To prevent future run-ins with ick I have already deceided on another cleaner shrimp. The other one does his job, but he's only on one corner of the tank. How do cleaner gobies work? I haven't found too much information on them other than their breeding habits.

cleaner gobies work but stay away from cleaner wrasses. they look almost like the cleaner goby only with the body of a wrasse. the problem with these guys are that they can only live if their are parasites in the water, so once the ich is gone the fish will starve.
we all say this but there are times when all of us forget but i just wanted to remind you that it is a good idea to put all fish in a quarintine tank for at least 3 weeks before adding them to your tank. (you may have done this and just didn't post it i just want to remind everyone)

I normally put my fish in a quarrantine tank, however the place that sold it to me told me that this fish doesn't really eat food directly, he picks off of the live rock. I don't keep live rock in my quarrentine tank because I use it for treatment. I should have taken the chance with his eating.
