Has anyone ordered from them? I just ordered a 50lb. box from them. I have read great things about them at RC. Because the rock is DRY, you get more rock in a box. The shapes are sweet from everything I have seen and read. Plus I didn't have to pay high overnight shipping charges. I have plenty of LR to seed it with, so that's not an issue for me. I will post some pics when it gets here. I haven't read 1 bad thing about them. ;) Right now I only have 30lbs of LR in my 75g. I'm having major issues with green / blackish slime algae and HA in that tank. I'm hoping that more Rock will help solve this problem. I was going to sell this tank but my hubby said I couldn't, so I may as well fill it up, lol. I also ordered more powerheads and a bigger return pump. We will see if that helps. I will move all of my corals out of the 65g into this 75g and move all of the seahorses into the 65g.

At least it keeps me hoppin, lol. It does stress me out sometimes, but I have good sense of humor. This too shall pass......if not I'll have a winner for the ugliest tank contest. ;)
Me, post pics, lol. Always. I'm a picture posting kinda gal.

And Curing:

I'm not just saying this because Marc is a good friend of mine... this stuff is amazing. It is the most porous, light, prettiest rock I've seen in my entire history of marine aquaria.
Make sure you do rinse it and let it "cure". It does have some dead life in there that WILL break down and cause problems if you don't wash it properly.

Thanks David!!! Now I really can't wait for it to get here. It's been sitting in Minniapolis, MN since the 19th !!! DHL has a delivery date of the 25th. They don't have a truck comming this way untill then. I HATE DHL!!!
I will cure it before I add it to a tank. I bought a 12lb box of rock rubble from them two months ago and it was nice. I cured it and used it in my sump and made "pod piles" in my main tanks with it. I have alot left, lol.

Yeah.... you'll find that there are some "aliens" in the rock. Everything from grass seed heads, to dried macros, to dried urchins etc. I put mine in fresh water (dechlorinated) in 20 gallon trash barrels, and kept soaking, rinsing, soaking, until I was comfy with it. You'll know. The water starts off with a rusty hue to it, and when it is pretty clean, it is clear. Even after that, I put it into salt water to cure up for a while. Now, it's in my sump and other tanks with no other life in it except the gazillion munnid isopods that moved in.
You'll really like it. 50lbs is a LOT of rock. It is sooo light and has so many nooks and crannies.

I got to cherry pick mine out of his bins. He has an incredible barn/office set up on his property. He lives about 40 minutes from my home on Cape Cod.

ha ha ha I wondered what all the seed like things were in the box of rock rubble I received. The rubble was put in a 20g. rubbermaid container with a HOB filter and a fewpowerheads. I had so much movement in the rubble bin, I created an accidental skimmer. The foam overflowed the tub and I resorted to using a net to scoop the foam off of the top of the water. I did this for days, lol.
Since the rock is dry, I figured It must be about twice the amount of rock as a 50# box of LR. After this rock is cured and ready to go, 90% of it is going into my 65g that will be for my Draco Marine seahorses. I'm saving a few of the smaller pieces for the fry tank and maybe the 3g or 5g eclipse tanks I have for Dwarf seahorses. If it's dry, I don't have to worry about hydroids or other nasties. All macros will be given a FW soak and the macros that go into the dwarf tank will be treated with panacur (sp?).

This is a 50# box of rock. A couple of the rocks are huge! I will not hesitate to buy more if I need it in the future. Lots of places for the ponies to hitch to.

He he he... I'm sure that there are some goodies in there. Those cats are going to go out of their trees if they can't find it.
Don't you just love the lacey rock? Amazing eh?

I do love the lacey rock. With 8 seahorses from draco marine, I see lot's of little tails curled around them. I did a water change on my 20g High and my 75g. The "old" water that I siphoned out of those 2 tanks is what I used to cure the Marco rock in. I figured that water would have some of the "good" bacteria in it.
I scrubbed the rock well before putting it into the curing tubs. I got rid of all of the sponges and "alien" stuff that was on the dry rock, so hopefully it will cure pretty quick. I found a Huge (3x4) rock clam in one of the rocks. I pried it open and cleaned out the inside of it. I also found a few smaller ones. That will be a good place for pods to hang out.
