My first sizeable life forms in my tank!
The first is a white worm about 1/2 an inch long.
The second is a snail or slug that is about 1/2 an inch long and 1/4" diameter...
Any exact ID's?
Thanks!

thanks!
hmm, wonder if he'll survive the cycle... ammonia is at .0145 ppm right now.

I wouldn't fret too much if the stomatella doesn;t make it through the cycle. If you want more, my 20 is FULL of them. Anyone know of a fish that has a taste for stomatella? ;)
BTW, not sure what that worm is... maybe a different pic, another angle, different lighting would help?

I would think that a Longnose Butterfly would like that snail, they seem to like just about anything that has a shell, LOL

Stomatella are great tankmates...they eat film algae. I wish I had more of them.
The worm image is fuzzy, but it seems that the worm is a segmented worm. As long as it doesn't look "leech like" with a proboscis type mouth, you should be okay.

Thanks everyone... I couldn't get a good shot of the worm, the stinkin camera wouldn't focus on it. The one that you see there is with manual focus.

JD, does your little worm crawl on the glass and then all of a sudden go in reverse??? the reason I ask is that I have segmented worms that look like that (as far as I can tell) and they will cruise on the glass and then all of a sudden go in reverse.

Do you want some of mine??? ;) My 20g has so many I can't clean the glass without smooshing them. There are 50 or so just on the glass, and they are forever spawning... you can easily see the little "puffs" come out and disperese into the water column. Kinda cool to watch, but I know that it just means even more stoma-babies!!! :)

:) They'd be frozen snails on the half shell by the time they got to me :) I'll find some locally. Thanks!

Justin, I was actually kidding... I don't know if they're even worth shipping. You could ask your LFS if they have any cruising around their tanks; they might just give them to you. If not, and you really want some, I'd be more than happy to send you some of mine.
