Overflow plumbing run at a angle?

Overflow plumbing run at a angle? I am thinking of running my overflow plumbing at a angle to reduce noise. It will be 1.5 inch pvc so i have more capacity than i will use. Any one done this? thoughts ideas. I plan to fresh water test system so i will be able to play with it.

I have messed around and tried overflow pipe at an angle on my system it was little or no help! I still think that the idea might work on a plumbing system that is under capacity. Some pictures of my experiments the last high tech solution was by far the best!!!!!!!!!!!
