Ok, my hole bit is inthe mail. Does anyone have any advice when drilling the hole. It will be in a 10 gallon, for the overflow. How far from the top should i go? Are the edges more prone to bust if im to close? Thanks in advance.

I would plot out your overflow and go as close to the center of the tank while still being in the over flow. I would say an inch down is plenty.

Other than keep it wet, anything else to watch for?

Keep her wet and go very slow. Let the drill do the work for you.

10 g is thin go slow and consider clamping a piece of glass to the back to help prevent chipping when bit grinds through the glass
