IS THERE A SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH CA? I WAS DOING A WATER TEST LAST NIGHT AND MY CA WAS OFF THE CHART MEANING TO COMPLEAT THE TEST I PUT DANG NERE 30 DROPS IN THE IN THE TEST VIAL.AND IT STILL WAS A PINK/PURPLE COLOR AND THE HIGHEST ON THE CHART IS I THINK 26 DROPS WHICH STATE THE CA IS ABOVE 580.

did you test your alk and double test your ca to make sure there was no mistake?

THE ALK IS PERFECT AND NO I DID NOT DOUBLE TEST THE CA I WILL TONIGHT THO ALL TEST WERE WELL UNDER SPEC OTHER THAN THE CA.

If you are uncomfortable with that high a level try like a 25% water change then do 10% daily until you get down to the level you need.

As far as I'm concerned, your alk levels are of the greatest importance. As long as their staying consistant and things are doing well, keep up things as they are.

Just FYI, I had an alk test do that to me last year. I repeated the test and got the same results... kinda freaked me out. I tested again the following day, and all was perfect. Go figure...
