was curious if they make something like this:
my pc fixture has actinic and 10k bulbs. I have the actinic bulbs come on and go off approx 30min before/after respectively than the 10k bulbs. Ive noticed it freaks my fish out sometimes when they just *bam* click on or off.

is there something I can attach so the lights fade on and off rather than just abrupt on/off?

yes they make a dimmer switch that I think would be relatively easy to tie into your plug although you would have to cut it. You may want to call around or something at an electrical supply store for some kind of aftermarket current reducer etc. just ask them what you asked here and i'm sure you can find something if you don't want to cut your plug on your fixture. home depot or lowes or similar should be able to help you. let me know what you find.

A dimmer will not work on a PC fixture. The ballast will most likely burn out.

I think ICECAP has a dimmable ballast.

The dimmers you find in the hardware stores are for incandescent lighting.
