I removed a CC sand bed for an Oolitic sand bed. Painted the back of the tank.

Not really the way I want it but the family likes it right now. They say it's better than before.

It looks really nice.

I would soak those plumbing parts in muriatic acid and water (or vinegar and water if you don't mind waiting and extra scrubbing) just so they look new again. :)

Last Saturday I rescued alot of corals from a friends tank that she was taking down and I am sure you will see them in most of the pictures. I took most of them for her to see how they are doing. Most of whats in the last picture is what she gave me. I ended up with all her livestock and rock from her 56G colum tank.

I noticed your brain coral and I have some questions about feeding them. I have had on for about 2 months. Here lately everytime I try to feed it a piece of fish, my tangs swoop in after it sits on top of the brain coral for several seconds and picks it up. Or, the current washes it off the coral before it has time to suck it down. Am I doing something wrong? It hasn't eaten in about 2 weeks.

Nice tank Will!!! I'm going to have to come get some frags, I can get you some off the ones greg gave me if you want, but it doesn't look like you have much room left.

dberrong,
As far as feeding a brain, you can spot feed it by cutting of the top of a two liter bottle, leaving the lid off, place the cut off top over the brain and then squirting the food onto the brain through a baster or something similar. then take the bottle top after its done eating.

I sure am....Just changed bulbs about a month or two ago. $10 each from Hellolights when they were on sale. They are the TRU brand.

I am SO proud of you! Such a great tank and beautiful & healthy looking livestock! I am particularly envious of the blue 'shrooms! :)

Sorry I missed this before - my method for feeding brains (saltwater ones, lol) is to "tempt" them a bit ahead of the time you want to feed (a few drops of liquid leftover from your frozen fish food, Marine Snow, MaxAmino) and wait 5 or so minutes. My two brains (and every other coral, lol) open right up - tentacles atretched out nicely... the brains also usually have their mouths protruding nicely - a gently directed baster of food is swallowed pretty quickly. If you have truly brutl theives, standing nearby with the baster already in the water to "beat away" the theives can be handy. :)

Thanks Tracy......

The blues have been in the tank for about 3 years. I got some free LR from a fellow reefer in Boise and there was one on the clam shell. I had a BTA parked on the shell for about a year and thought I had lost all of them but they are back. I really do like them also. But the thing I like most (which changes often with this tank) are the purple and green fuzzy mushrooms. My false percs love them. I do have a BTA in there (3rd to the last pic) but they have never hosted it. I have had the percs for about 2 years.
