ice pack heat pack or nothing

ok i am shipping frags tomorrow and have styrofoam insulated boxes and triple bagged the corals. should i add heat packs or ice packs or should they be fine like they are? i dont want to much heat to cook them. any help would be great.

I think you'd want refrigerated packs (not frozen, just cold). That will maintain bag temperatures while you are in and around 80F. You need to make sure the packs don't touch the bagged livestock, but are in the cooler. Tape the styrofoam to seal it so air doesn't vent out.

Over time, the temperature in the box will drop. However, in a sealed box, it takes a long time for that to occur.

So what did you end up doing?

well i looked up the forecast for where i live and then the forecast for the destination and sealed the boxes like sugessted and triple bagged the corals and added additional newspaper shreds and sent them out. everything made it alive and well.
