I need some help I guess. I have been broke for quite awhile, and not able to maintain the tank as I used to.

I have a 75 Gallon tank, and now I only have a majestic foxface, and a small clown fish. I have no corals, and no inverts.

I have about 30 pounds of live rock, and a pre drilled wet dry filter. I do not have a protein skimmer because I have never used them, and dont know how it works.

Anyways, I have had a growing clown fish for almost 2 years now. He just suddenly dissapeared out of nowhere.

I dont see any remains of him anywhere, and no signs of distress in the tank.

The only new thing I notice is quite a few bristle worms that I have pulled out of the tank tonight.

Can they kill fish??

What else can happen to a fish to where they just disappear? ?

I have a detrius brown algae build up, and some red algae forming. I just found some strange white spider web or netting looking stuff on my rocks too.

What is going on in my tank? Anyone have some advice for me?

need som epictures, my guess would be a spike in your phosphate or nitrate levels. alot of times when a fish dies they can wond up under a rock and you wont be able to see them. bristle worms won't kill the fish IMO but they will make short work of a corpse.

I have had fish gone missing to later find them on the carpet behind the stand. A cat would make short work of a flopping fish. I have heard of monster bristle worms taking sleeping fish. Just some thoughts.
