What is the difference between the HO T5's and the HO T6's? I have been seeing fixtures that claim the T6's are comparable to MH's. Something doesn't sound right there. Both are 39watts (36" lamps). Any insight would be appreciated.

I haven't seen a HO T-6 yet. Didn't know they made a HO T-6. Do you have a link or brand name I would like to check them out!

Here is a place that sells some t-6 fixtures. I believe they are pretty new on the aquarium scene. I can't imagine they are greatly different then t-5 but I could be wrong.

Ah ha....Someone else is an ebay junkie, lol. That is where I keep seeing them.

We need a lighting expert to explain them to us, lol.

We all know you can't always believe what we read on Ebay:p

It seems like I've heard of T6's in the past, but I don't recall anything specific. I just checked hellolights.com as that is a site just for lighting, and they don't have any T6 bulbs in stock.

I had read somewhere that T6s are basically T5s, just that the bulb is a bit larger (not T8 larger, but you get the concept).
Don't recall where. I'll post if I find again.

Do NOT buy from aquatraders. Their products have been rumored to shock people and set fires. This is really bad since their junk is not UL listed your insurance company will not pay out if this happens

I had a bad experience with them once too about a year and a half ago...... ordered some stuff and they replaced the name brand stuff i ordered with their "in house" brand and claimed since it was just as good then I was outta luck on getting the stuff i actually ordered from them..... Thank god for Pre-Payed Legal....I got what i ordered plus some vouchers for my "trouble" lol Needless to say i never used the vouchers.. rip off artists

T numbers refer to how many 8ths of an inch a fluorescent lamp is. A T5 is 5/8" in diameter. A T6 is 6/8" or 3/4". The same goes for T8, T10, or T12.
